This is our first ever investigation as a team. What started out as a quiet night and just general natural noises from the bush we captured what we believe to be Tasamania's first video of Min Min Lights (bush lights).
Our first investigation
On September 18th 2004, we set out on our first investigation. Behind the suburb where I live is a clump of bush land which a disused train line. We walked down the unused train line (which is now a fire track) and for the first 2 hours we heard natural sound, which we did jump a few times…. When you have a wallaby bounding in front of you out of the darkness, it can make on jump, one of our old team mates saw a strange light about three hundred meters away towards a hill. At first we thought it was a star, but that changed as it was at the base of the hill (no star can come that low) then it started moving slightly, moving in all sorts of directions but not travelling far from the base of the hill…. We thought it may have been a shooter looking for a roo, but there was not light beams coming off it and it certainly didn’t move like a torch light, it almost looked like it was dancing, so we stared thinking fire, but it never grew in size (we had been watching it now for twenty minutes) it faded in and out, disappearing and reappearing, when it moved down ways it became a bit harder to see, so we walked towards it, it had disappeared and none of us could see it, until we moved over the rise of the hill and it appeared again, but this time it split into two separate balls of light, the closer we move towards it, the further it moved away, though still staying about three hundred meters away, it finally disappeared and didn’t reappear. I did some study and found simular stories and sightings as the one we had…. In the mainland they are called MIN MIN LIGHT’S and around the world they are called by different names…. Will o Wisps, Ghost Lights, Mafia Light, Ingus Faitus. Had we captured Tasmania’s own min min, we call them here “The Bush Lights”. WE have gone through all the footage dozens of times, we came to the conclusion it was not natural and something to be investigated more.
We spent the next two months travelling back to capture them but came up empty handed. This ball of light moved like no other man made light can, we have come to the conclusion now it’s paranormal.
