Mrs. Knight conducted a boarding school for young ladies, instilling in them that art of being graceful and being dignified, aswell as reading, writing, history and math’s, the school ran between 1848/ 1866
In March of 1881 Mr. George Knight (son of john & Susannah) sold the land for private use, this only lasted a short time…. The remaining land was sold to the council.
In 1904 council demolished the abandoned builds, & by August 1905 the grounds became known as Carr Villa

Mr. Stebbings first burial was Mrs. Elizabeth Clear, by the time he retired in 1936 he had supervised over 10,303 burials…. He left the cemetery as Tasmania’s most beautiful one, he is responsible for the lawns, trees, shrubs and talked about a rose garden (which was put in 1978)
The crematorium was built in 1938 and is still used to this day.

Video1. This video was shot in late 2004 and is the highlight of our first Tasmanian cemetery video. We were midway through our investigation at a local cemetery, when we decided to take a break Drew decided to leave his camera on while he was resting and as he accidently shines his torch in his eyes he laughs. Then you hear a little girl giggle and say hello my name is Paula. There were no females out with us that night and it was 2:30 in the morning so there were no children around.
Video2. This was shot on the same you here sounds like a very loud scream.
Video3. Captured on our first investigation at Carr-Vila as we were heading towards the north side of the cemetery I stopped to film some of the trees that divide the north and south sides. Looking towards the west side I noticed a set of eyes staring back at me I filmed for about four minutes and then decided to go and fetch the guys by the time we got back though they were gone.In hindsight it was probaly a possum but left us guessing for moment.
Video4. If you look closely at this one you can see the figure of person hiding behind the tree, where not sure if it's ghostly or not but we did not see or hear anyone around us at the time.
